Study Boxing with One of the Greatest Punchers of All Times — Mexican Bantamweight, Jesus “Little Poison” Pimentel.

Ranked by Ring Magazine as one of the 100 greatest punchers of all time, Jesus Pimentel was a fan favorite in Los Angeles due to his terrific punching power. Pimentel won 77 bouts, 68 by knockout, and lost 7.

Despite his outstanding record and exciting style, Pimentel was denied a chance at the bantamweight title until later in his career. His last professional fight attempted to wrest the crown from all time great bantamweight champion Ruben Olivares on December 17, 1971.

In 2003, Ring Magazine published a list of 100 of the greatest punchers of all time in boxing, as voted by the magazine’s writers. Jesus Pimentel was ranked 60th.

Various criteria were used for the voting, more specifically, what percentage of fights by each boxer resulted as knockout wins, how many knockouts and knockout streaks each boxer had, what important rivals they knocked out during their careers, and who they couldn’t knockout.

Today, Jesus Pimentel heads up the amateur boxing and professional training programs at the Center for Law Enforcement and Security Training based in Northridge, CA.

Boxing training is offered from 4pm-9pm, Monday through Friday, and by appointment. Boxing is an excellent form of physical fitness and one of the oldest forms of self-defense.

The Center for Law Enforcement and Security Training also offers Muay Thai kickboxing, law enforcement/bodyguard career preparation, and security/bodyguard licensing.
